DRESSAGE COMPETITIONS 2026 at Castlefields, Castle Kennedy, DG9 8SQ

Tuesdays – 26th May, 7th July, 21st July and 18th August 2026

The competitions will be run under British Riding Club Rules.  These are Points League events.

Dress Down Dressage OR Plait and wear competition gear – your choice.

Entries for all classes close at 12 noon on day before competition (Monday).

Times will be given for dressage classes on the website (stranraer-ridingclub.co.uk) on Monday evening prior to competition.

It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they are wearing hats (and body protectors, if worn) to the correct standard.

• Riders may wear ordinary riding gear (dress down dressage), and there is no requirement to plait your horse/pony, unless you wish to plait.  Riders must not wear hoodies, or any clothing with a hood.

• Riders who wish to plait their horse/pony and abide by BRC dress guidelines will be entered for the new Trophy for best turned out, to be awarded at the AGM.
• Withdrawals after close of entry will not be refunded.

Becca is a British Showjumping UKCC Level 2 coach with eight years’ experience coaching and twenty years riding experience.

Open to all levels, whether you’re just starting out, building confidence, or preparing for your next competition.

Thirty minute private lesson          

S&DRC Members = £25                    Non Members = £33

Forty-five minute group lesson (two people) 

S&DRC Members = £18                    Non Members = £25

One hour group lesson (group of 3) 

           S&DRC Members = £16                    Non Members = £23

There are no additional booking fees.

The cost for S&DRC members is being subsidised by the Club and Stranoch Wind Farm.

Full payment must be made at time of booking.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refund (minus £5 to cover website and processing costs) if space able to be filled.  If unable to fill space – no refund.

PHOTOGRAPHS:  Official photographs and video will be taken at this event and may be published on websites, social media or in other publications.  If you do not want your image(s) to be used, please inform the event secretary in advance of the event.

At check-out you will be asked to give your consent for your photographs and video footage to be used by the club in printed, online or electronic publications, which may be shared publicly.  Examples of these materials include, but are not limited to: posters, leaflets, brochures, adverts, emails, e-newsletters, blogs, web pages, social media posts, presentations, speeches, research or policy reports and press releases or other materials.

General Information

• All riders are responsible for ensuring the safety of themselves and others.
• All riders must have previous experience of riding the horse they are bringing.
• Always ride, with courtesy, care and consideration to fellow participants.
• Dogs are allowed, however must be kept under control on a lead at all times.
• Dog poop to be picked up and put in the bin.
• Rubbish to be placed in bins or taken home.
• Horse droppings to be lifted and taken home.

Riders

• Hats to the current BRC standard must be worn.
• Body protectors, if worn, should comply with current BRC standard.
• Suitable riding footwear must be worn – no trainers or wellies.
• Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian whilst on site.

Mains water available on site.

Horses / Ponies

• Hooves and shoes, if worn, must be in good condition.
• Stallions not permitted, unless agreed in advance.
• Tack must be in safe condition and fit correctly – you should check before attending
• You are responsible for any damage caused by your horse to any facilities whilst on site and will be liable for the cost of replacing / repairing.
