Castle Kennedy Charity Show

Castle Kennedy Charity Show – Saturday 19th July 2025 – In aid of YMCA Stranraer.

Gates will be open from 9.30 am – please do not arrive before this time to avoid having to wait on the A75.

Numbers will be available for collection from 10 am.  Catering by Pic a Picnic.

Mains water taps are located opposite the gate near portaloo, in the parking area.

There will also be some tack car boot stalls.

Entries on the day available – cash only (£12 members and £15 non-members).

The Warm Up Area is in the big fieldFor the safety of all, the collecting area (in front of ring entrances) is for waiting to go into rings only. 

Any classes being judged at the same time will have rosettes awarded as per class entered.

1st prize winners from each ring will go forward for the judging of the championship in that ring. 

The Supreme Championship will be judged from the Champion and Reserve from each ring.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mrs Campbell is unable to judge.  Classes have been amalgamated as under-noted.

RING 1 – Mrs S Thom – 10.30 am start

10.30 am  –  1  –  Cob – In Hand – any age.  –  4

10.50 am  –  2  –  Coloured – In Hand – any age  –  4

11.10 am  –  3, 4 & 6 – Coloured – Sports / Plaited, Veteran AND Any other type/breed In Hand  –  3

11.25 am  –  7  –  Cob – Ridden – four years old or over.  –  3

11.40 am  –  8 & 9  –  Coloured – Traditional / Native – AND Sports/Plaited – Ridden  –  4

12 noon  –  10  –  Veteran Horse / Pony (16 years and over) – Ridden.  –  3

12.20 pm  –  12 & 13  –  Any other type / breed of Horse / Pony AND Riding Horse – ridden  –  3

12.40 pm  –  14 & 15  –  ‘Lightweight’ AND ‘Heavyweight’ Hunter – ridden.  –  4

RING 2 – Mrs G McGlashan – 10.30 am start

10.30 am  –  26 & 27  –  Brood Mare and Foal  –  2

10.45 am  –  30  –  3 year old colt, filly or gelding – to be shown in hand.  –  1

10.55 am  –  31  –  Best Turned Out Pony / Horse – in hand or ridden.  –  3

11.15 am  –  16  –  Mountain and Moorland Small Breeds – Any age – to be shown in hand.  –  1

11.25 am  –  17  –  Mountain & Moorland Large Breeds – Any age – to be shown in hand.  –  2

11.40 am  –  20  –  Mountain and Moorland Small Breeds – to be shown ridden.  –  1

11.50 am  –  21  –  Mountain & Moorland Large Breeds – to be shown ridden.  –  1

12 noon  –  25  –  Ridden Show Hunter Pony, not exceeding 153 cm – to be shown ridden  –  1

12.10 pm  –  34  –  Ridden Ring Experience – Horses.  Walk and Trot only.  –  1

12.20 pm  –  36  –  Young Handler – Child 12 – 16 years old.  To be shown in hand.  –  3
